Dream Big, Hug Bigger: Cozykins’ Journey So Far

Cozykins was officially born on April 13, 2024, a date that marks the beginning of something magical—what started as a bold bet on myself has grown into a world filled with joy, connection, and cozy adventures! This first year has been all about laying the foundation for a vision that goes far beyond plushies. I have been working on creating an inclusive community, inspiring creativity, and bringing people together in a way that feels like home. In a time where we have lost all our third-places for hanging out, I want to grow Cozykins to become that for others.

Building Something Bigger

When Cozykins began, it wasn’t just about the plushies—though they are incredibly adorable! It was about creating a space for people of all ages to feel seen, heard, and connected. Plushies have always held a special place in my heart— not only as comforting companions but as symbols of love, creativity, and belonging.

Cozykins events aren’t limited to one brand or type of toy. We embrace diversity and breaking down barriers; whether you’re bringing your childhood favorite, a collector’s item, or one of our Cozykins friends, you’re part of the fun! We’re excited, planning to offer workshops for customizing, cleaning, and even repairing plushies—breathing new life into the friends that bring us comfort.

A Year of Growth and Resilience

This year hasn’t been without its challenges. Losing my beloved ESA, Paris, and my younger brother, Vincent— two months apart in 2023— was heartbreaking, and those anniversaries brought waves of grief. Cozykins gave me a way to channel that pain into something meaningful. The joy of building a community and creating a product that resonates with so many has been a powerful force for healing.

Starting Cozy meant taking a leap of faith. With limited resources and a whole lot of determination, I launched this dream. From securing manufacturing in June, to contracting the brilliant artist Socket Tumi for our first plushie designs, every step has been an exercise in resilience and creativity.

While there have been setbacks—like the challenging recovery from an emergency c-section and learning hard lessons through volunteering on a board—I’ve held onto my vision for Cozykins. This is a testament to where we have been, and where I am taking it from here.

What’s Next for Cozykins

As we approach our first birthday, I’m thrilled about what’s to come. The plushies are almost here, and with them, the chance to host our first workshops and events! I’m already dreaming up the ways Cozy can continue to grow—not just as a brand, but as a movement for community, creativity, and connection.

Cozykins Plushies isn’t just a business; it’s a love letter to all of you who’ve supported me over the years! Whether you’re following along on social media, attending events, or sharing your love for plushies, you’re a part of this story.

Let’s keep building this dream together! Share your favorite Cozykins memories or how you’re betting on yourself this year. You can find us on Bluesky and Mastodon—we can’t wait to hear from you!

Here’s to dreaming big, hugging bigger, and making 2025 a Cozy start. 💖
